Jackie Crooks
Jackie Crooks is an Associate Lecturer at Belfast Metropolitan College and a member of Belfast Print Workshop.
Crooks is a Belfast based painter and printmaker. Studied Fine Art at the University of Ulster, Belfast and a Post graduate Diploma in Art Therapy from Hertfordshire College of Art and Design, St. Albans in 1988.
Working mainly in acrylic and watercolour and combining screen printing and painting over a wide variety of subjects. Over the years horses, horses and riders have been a recurring theme. Jackie has exhibited throughout Ireland and in England and in the RUA and RHA annual exhibitions.
Lisa’s primary interest is working with photographic still life images that she composes to represent psychological spaces.
Her work focuses on bringing about a quiet sense of order and clarity as a response to exploring the uneasy feelings that cause us to question ourselves. Uncertainty, ambiguity and tension are all themes that inform her inspiration.
