Dora McCavera
Dora McCavera joined the Belfast Print Workshop in 1978 while studying Education at St. Mary’s College, Belfast.
Encouraged by her tutor, TP Flanagan she visited the recently opened print workshop at Riddel Hall and enrolled as a member. Initially focused on aquatint and etching techniques under the instruction of James Allen and Sophie Aghajanian, in time, her interests expanded to include screen printing, lithography and mezzotint. Her current portfolio of prints includes a wide variety of techniques and draws its influence from the natural world.

Lisa’s primary interest is working with photographic still life images that she composes to represent psychological spaces.
Her work focuses on bringing about a quiet sense of order and clarity as a response to exploring the uneasy feelings that cause us to question ourselves. Uncertainty, ambiguity and tension are all themes that inform her inspiration.
