Join established printmaker and long-time member Ivan Frew on this weekend workshop in Collagraph Printing.
Collagraphs are the printed results from a ‘collage plate’. This course will focus on painterly printmaking techniques, perfect for creating expressive, textured images with a depth of colour and variety of mark-making.
you will learn how to create professional printmaking plates using safe, inexpensive and easily obtainable materials, printed with high quality printmaking inks and archival papers. Come prepared with your sketches and inspirational images, and recreate an original work or an edition of prints to give away as presents

This full-day workshop introduces participants to creating bold, expressive 2–3 layer hand-drawn screenprints. Working from their own sketches or simple reference images, students will learn how to turn hand-drawn marks into layered artwork ready for screen exposure. We’ll explore beginner-friendly approach to separating drawings into graphic shapes and lines, combining freehand elements with hand-cut stencils to build dynamic compositions. The session covers exposing screens, setting up and using the press, and straightforward registration methods for producing clean multicolour prints. By the end of the day, each participant will create a small edition of their own screenprints on paper.
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces you to the beautiful and historic cyanotype process. Led by artist and printmaker Josephine McCormick, you’ll learn each stage of the technique through demonstrations, hands-on practice, and expert guidance.
Cyanotype is an early photographic process that produces striking blue prints. During the course, you’ll experiment with botanicals, stencils, flat objects, and high-contrast black-and-white photographs to create unique prints. All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own botanicals, lace, flat jewellery, or other objects to personalise your work. We’ll also ask you to send two black-and-white photographic images in advance.
By the end of the day, you’ll take home a collection of stunning cyanotype prints.

Your instructor, Ivan Frew, will demonstrate each step of the process, provide examples, and offer continuous support throughout the workshop.
With ample time and space, you'll have the opportunity to unleash your creativity and experiment with the diverse possibilities of monoprinting. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a collection of your own distinctive prints.
Create your own handmade Christmas cards in this festive lino printing workshop and design a block you'll be able to use year after year. Whether you're making cards for family and friends or simply looking to try a traditional printmaking technique, this workshop is a fun and creative way to get into the Christmas spirit.
The session begins with an introduction to lino printing, covering the basics of the process, examples of printed cards, and guidance on developing your own Christmas-themed design. Participants will then transfer their design onto an A6 lino block ready for carving.
The second part of the workshop focuses on carving techniques, safe tool use, and creating test prints to refine your design before the final print run.
Once your block is complete, you'll learn how to mix inks and hand-print your design onto blank greeting cards, creating a small edition of unique Christmas cards to take home. If time allows and the prints are dry, you'll also be shown how to add hand-coloured details using pens or pencils, making each card even more personal.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a hand-carved lino block that can be reused every Christmas, along with a selection of handmade cards and the skills to continue printing at home.

The session begins with an introduction to watercolour monoprinting, exploring examples of the process before preparing A5 printing paper and printing plates. You'll spend the first part of the workshop experimenting with watercolours and becoming familiar with how the medium behaves on the printing surface.
You'll then create your own monoprints using metal plates and an etching press, producing a series of unique prints. Most participants create between one and three finished prints, depending on their pace.
To finish, you'll be shown how to recreate the process at home using a simple glass plate, allowing you to continue making watercolour monoprints without needing access to a printing press.

· Create your own drypoint plate using a drypoint needle. Feel free to bring photos, sketches, or ideas to work from.
· Add delicate layers of colour and texture using chine collé—employing coloured tissue paper to introduce colour into your prints.
· Print your artwork on an etching press to achieve professional-quality results.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a series of unique prints, along with the skills and confidence to continue exploring drypoint printmaking independently.
