Screen Printing with Neil Kerr – Saturday 30th and 31st August

Screen printing, a versatile and widely used technique in the realm of visual arts, involves transferring a design onto various surfaces. Printmaker Neil Kerr will be leading a comprehensive workshop on the intricacies of the screen printing process. This immersive course will guide participants through the entire screen printing process, from image creation to final print. 

The program will concentrate on the nuances of image development, offering hands-on guidance on transforming original concepts into stunning screen-printed artworks. Neil, an accomplished artist and musician, is adept at employing this technique to craft bespoke visuals for a myriad of mediums, including vinyl sleeves, posters, and apparel for his personal ventures and exclusive projects.

Attendees will explore colour layering, screen exposure, and image alignment, using both traditional and digital tools like Photoshop to bring their ideas to life. The workshop will also entail practical sessions on screen setup, preparation, and the actual printing process. Participants will have the opportunity to master the intricacies of screen exposure and development, experimenting with various methods to produce their own unique collection of prints, tailored to their creative vision.

Open to all levels, the course balances technical instruction with creative experimentation. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your practice, you'll develop a personal collection of prints tailored to your vision, and gain the skills needed to produce high-quality results across a range of media.

All materials are provided

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit inky, and feel free to bring a packed lunch for the short break during the day.
