Cyanotype - Botanical and Photographic workshop with Josephine McCormick, Sat 26th & 27th April, 10am - 4pm
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces you to the beautiful and historic cyanotype process. Led by artist and printmaker Josephine McCormick, you’ll learn each stage of the technique through demonstrations, hands-on practice, and expert guidance.
Cyanotype is an early photographic process that produces striking blue prints. During the course, you’ll experiment with botanicals, stencils, flat objects, and high-contrast black-and-white photographs to create unique prints. All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own botanicals, lace, flat jewelry, or other objects to personalize your work. We’ll also ask you to send two black-and-white photographic images in advance.
By the end of the day, you’ll take home a collection of stunning cyanotype prints, along with a reference handbook to continue exploring this flexible and rewarding process.
