Derive by Mia Stewart - Exhibition April 2026

We’re delighted to present Derive, a solo exhibition by Irish artist Mia Stewart at Belfast Print Workshop, as part of our Graduate Award 2025 programme.

Derive is a step into a journey through the urban landscapes of Belfast. Inspired by Guy Debord and the Situationist International (1956–72), Mia works through processes of détournement, cut-up, collage, montage, and juxtaposition to fracture official narratives and curated memories, creating space for new encounters and relationships to emerge.

Working across disciplines, Mia’s practice currently centres on screenprinting and monoprinting, reworking urban imagery by removing and replacing elements to shift and manipulate meaning.
