Discover the expressive world of watercolour monoprinting in this relaxed three-hour taster session. Perfect for beginners and those looking to explore a new printmaking technique, this workshop offers an accessible introduction to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind prints.
The session begins with an introduction to watercolour monoprinting, exploring examples of the process before preparing A5 printing paper and printing plates. You'll spend the first part of the workshop experimenting with watercolours and becoming familiar with how the medium behaves on the printing surface.
You'll then create your own monoprints using metal plates and an etching press, producing a series of unique prints. Most participants create between one and three finished prints, depending on their pace.
To finish, you'll be shown how to recreate the process at home using a simple glass plate, allowing you to continue making watercolour monoprints without needing access to a printing press.
All materials are provided, and no previous printmaking or painting experience is required.
