FIRE SAFETY & EVACUATION

Exit doors/fire exits should be kept closed and unobstructed at all times and must not be propped open.  

In the event of a fire, the alarm will sound as a continuous ringing. Leave the building from the nearest exit and do not use the elevator. The main assembly point is across the road at the Merchant Hotel.
Your tutor is the class fire warden. 

WASHOUT AREA
Please wear goggles and ear defenders when using the power hose. 
Please ensure powerhouse and soft hose are turned off when not in use. 
Only use power hose and soft hose in the washout booth. 
Please mop floor if it becomes wet and ensure wet/spillage signs are in place. 

DRYING CABINET/ LIGHT BOX
Please ensure red lightbox switch and red drying cabinet are in the off position before turning the main isolator off. 

PAPER GUILLOTINE: 

Please use guillotine with care after proper instruction from your tutor. 
Do not use paper guillotine to cut metal, heavy plastic sheets etc.. 


CHEMICALS 

  • All chemicals and solvents are potential health hazards. Handle with care. 

  • Wear gloves when handling solvents/inks, health and safety masks.

  • Material Safety Data Sheets are available on the workshop Health and Safety Notice board. 

ACCIDENT & FIRST AID KIT 

Any accident no matter how small, that occurs within the workshop must be reported to the workshop technician (or your tutor). 

Workshop area must be kept clean and tidy.
