The Last Tree in Ireland - Ivan Armstrong Exhibion

This Exhibition of twelve etchings has its roots in Mweenish Island at the tip of the Carna Peninsula in Connemara. On the island is a small stand of mountain ash trees, unusual for that part of the world which is wind swept and treeless for the most part. It has that rocky island beauty for which Connemara is famed and it is this beauty which Ivan feels is under threat from pollution of every sort and environmental degradation in general.

The Last Trees are in fact the last trees in Ireland on the Atlantic shore - next stop America! This Exhibition is Ivans way of alerting the viewer to the damage we are creating in our environment coupled with the danger of global warming.
